“Even though you’re growing up, you should never stop having fun.” Nina Dobrev
Pursuing interests and having fun are a big part of living a full life. Mission Project participants do both, enjoying an abundance of activities lead by parents and volunteers.
Vroom. Vroom. Participants interested in autos and racing rev the engines of their radio-controlled cars and have a blast competing in races with other participants.
Sylvester Powell Jr. Community Center offers a special, monthly social program to Mission Project participants and others. Outings have included cheering the Royals and Sporting KC, visiting Cedar Cove Feline Sanctuary and playing games at Power Play and Dave & Buster’s.
Sometimes Club MP stays closer to home with pool parties, holiday gatherings and WWE watch nights at the center.
Who doesn’t enjoy dinner and a movie? Mission Project participants go to a theater to see the latest film once a month. Often they can choose between two films. After, they dine out and discuss what they’ve seen.
