Dear Friends,

Your impact is simply amazing!

Every day, The Mission Project brings stories of growth and connection to life for adults with Down syndrome, autism, or an intellectual disability. Our participants are finding their voices and gaining new skills. They are forming friendships, working, socializing, and discovering a sense of belonging.

For Mission Project participants, this life is a dream come true—something long hoped for but not realized until now. As we celebrate 21 years of The Mission Project, we honor the progress that has been made and the lives that have been transformed.

It’s a story of triumph—one individual at a time. Jonathan, for example, has proudly held his position at Home Depot for 20 years. Because of generous donors, he has what he needs to succeed. Jonathan receives reliable transportation to and from work, sharpens his job and social skills through weekly Problem Solvers meetings, benefits from a job coach, and regularly socializes with friends.

Each participant’s story is unique, and each is just as compelling as Jonathan’s. By the numbers, 2025 has been a remarkable year. Here’s a sample of what your generosity has made possible:

  • 50 members participated in programs promoting their independence and inclusion.

  • 400 activities and events enhanced life skills, socialization, and personal growth.

  • 8,000 rides helped participants get to and from work.

Many adults with Down syndrome, autism, and intellectual disabilities still face barriers to employment, transportation, and social connection. Together, we can continue building a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. We invite you to make a tax-deductible gift that helps sustain and expand our life-changing programs.

We are especially excited to launch a new platform—an innovative program featuring live, interactive virtual courses that are evidence-based. These courses focus on building independent living skills, including employment, socialization, healthy relationships, and safety. Participants have shown an average 32% increase in knowledge and a 27% increase in confidence. This virtual platform will allow individuals with autism and IDD across Kansas and the Kansas City metro area to participate, reducing barriers related to transportation, geography, and comfort with in-person programs. Our goal is for these courses to help strengthen connection and confidence both online and in person.

With gratitude and hope,

Families of The Mission Project

P.S. Please make your year-end gift today at www.themissionproject.org. Thank you for believing in the potential of every person we serve. With your help, we can continue to open doors, break barriers, and celebrate every success in 2026.
