The Mission Project recently welcomed students from Indian Hills Middle School for a special visit focused on learning about our work supporting adults IDD in the Kansas City community. Students met with our team, asked thoughtful questions, and learned how our programs help adults with Down syndrome, autism, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities build independence, develop life skills, and stay connected through employment, transportation, and social opportunities.

Their visit was part of a larger initiative sending 75 students to eight local nonprofits, giving students hands-on experience with community organizations and nonprofit impact.
The students are now preparing presentations to share what they learned. We look forward to visiting Indian Hills Middle School later this spring to reconnect with the students. And are so incredibly greatful to have been selected to receive a grant along with the 8 other area non-profits that were chosen for this special project.
Thank you to the students, families, and staff for taking the time to learn about The Mission Project and for supporting organizations that strengthen our community.
