Jam Session with Mike Ashley Brings Music, Joy, and Community Connection

The Mission Project recently hosted a high-energy Jam Session at the Sylvester Powell Community Center. It was a night to remember!

Kansas City musician Mike Ashley generously shared his time, talent, and infectious spirit, turning the evening into an unforgettable musical experience for participants, families, and guests. With a career spanning decades, Mike has played with local favorites like The Fibrons and Zero and the Positives, and his passion for music was felt in every note.

There was something for everyone—from singing along, to dancing, to picking up instruments and joining in the fun. Participants jumped at the chance to hit the dance floor, and by the end of the night, tambourines and drumsticks were in full swing as everyone played along to the rhythm.

The event wasn’t just about music—it was about community. Families invited friends and guests, making it a welcoming and inclusive evening for all. The Jam Session offered a chance to connect, celebrate, and experience the joy that comes from shared moments and good music.

A huge thank you to Mike Ashley for bringing his heart and talent to our community, and to everyone who joined us for this special night!
