We are excited to share that this year’s Annual Independence Walk was another wonderful success! Each step taken by our participants, families, and supporters represented more than just a walk through downtown Mission—it was a celebration of independence, community, and the incredible impact of The Mission Project.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, donated, and cheered us on. Your support makes a direct difference in the lives of our participants, helping them continue to build confident, independent lives in the community they love.
Event Highlights:
-
A Beautiful Day for a Walk – The weather couldn’t have been better as participants and friends strolled 1- or 2-miles through scenic downtown Mission. The smiles, laughter, and conversations along the way showed exactly what community is all about.
-
Fun and Excitement at the Raffle – As always, the raffle at the end of the walk was a crowd favorite! Our participants had the honor of drawing winners, and the room buzzed with excitement as prizes—generously donated by local businesses and friends—were announced.
Why It Matters
Funds raised from the Independence Walk go directly toward programs that empower our participants to thrive. From fitness and nutrition classes, to art and theater programs, to safe transportation that helps participants maintain employment—these contributions ensure independence isn’t just a dream, but a reality.
